We all know the Gerber brand.  It’s a name that synonymous with baby nutrition and has been trusted by families for generations.  With products that range from infant formula to snacks to toddler meals, they’re a trusted dietary addition in many households with young children.

My husband and I have used Gerber products for our two boys.  In fact, Gerber cereal was the first solid food either of them ate!  Halfway through babies first year, most are developmentally ready to include some solid foods into their breast milk or infant formula diet.  In this transition, nutritional gaps can occur.  Gerber Cereal fills in these gaps with over ten essential vitamins and minerals including Calcium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zinc and six B Vitamins.

Iron is a key addition in Gerber cereals!  Parents may not realize its vital importance in brain development and growth.  Babies are born with an abundance of iron that is depleted by the time they’re about six months old.  Parents can help counteract this depletion by feeding their baby iron-rich foods.  Gerber makes it simple!  Just two servings of Gerber Cereal a day can provide an infant with 90% of their daily iron needs!

The versatility of Gerber Cereal is amazing!  Parents can add it to their children’s food without them even knowing.  Mixed with breast milk or formula, it can then be added to pureed fruits or veggies for a nutritional boost.  It can also be added to smoothies for older babies to thicken and add flavor and nutrients.  Baked goods are no exception!  Gerber Cereal can be used in muffins, cookies and pancakes for toddlers.  Even older children and parents will love what you can make with Gerber Cereal!

Over ten families recently gathered at our Macaroni Kid Gerber Party to sample and experience what can be done with Gerber’s line of cereal products.  Babies were able to sample four varieties of Gerber Cereal including their new Hearty Bits Multigrain Cereal.  Parents and toddlers experienced what can be created when you cook with Gerber Cereals.  Most were surprised that Gerber’s Oatmeal & Banana Cereal was used in the Apples and Bananas Cookies we served!

Gerber Cereal really is a versatile and nutritionally sound choice for families with young children.  With several varieties for babies and toddlers at each stage of development, parents are sure to find a cereal that their child will love!
