FAMILY FUN: Bonsai Exhibit & Homeschool Day at Hershey Gardens

September 23, 2016
Bonsai Exhibit

A bonsai exhibit will be featured once again at Hershey Gardens during “Bonsai: Living Art of the Susquehanna Bonsai Club.” The annual exhibit opens Friday, Oct. 7, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The exhibit features a variety of uniquely shaped trees, in addition to information on bonsai, what they are and how they are cultivated. Susquehanna Bonsai Club provides the seasonal exhibit to Hershey Gardens. The exhibit is located in the former seasonal Butterfly House.

The word “bonsai” refers to the ancient Japanese art form of growing miniature, ornamentally-shaped trees or shrubs in small pots or trays.

The bonsai exhibit is included in general admission to Hershey Gardens. General admission is $12.50 for visitors ages 13-61, $11.50 for seniors (ages 62 and up), and $9.00 for juniors (ages 3-12); children under age three are free. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.  General admission also includes entry into the Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory and the year-round indoor tropical Butterfly Atrium.

Homeschool Day

Admission is $8.00 per student with one adult free per family.  Additional adults are $9.00.  Advance registration is required.  Space is limited!  Families are strongly encouraged to reserve their spots early!
