It's springtime in south central Pennsylvania and with the warmer weather comes the cultural phenomenon known in these parts as Garage Sale Season. Listings begin to fill the newspaper and appear online. Yard salers arrive early, coffee in hand. The good stuff goes quick. By 10:00am, there's not much left. Weekends mid-April through Memorial Day have a rhythm all their own.
Garage sales themselves can be rewarding. A cleaner house. A few extra dollars. An opportunity to be social (if that's your thing). :-) They can also make you regret the day you ever decided to have one. It's a lot of work to lug those heavy boxes of old books to the yard. And what if no one shows up?
