Camelback Resort & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark Review!

By Erin Petko, Publisher of Macaroni Kid Hershey January 30, 2021

We were blessed in August with a beautiful baby boy. Our Summers are typically filled with swimming, fishing, and events (prior to 2020). Due to Covid precautions and having a newborn, we have been home for the better part of the past year. My children were starting to become overwhelmed and bored. Our children are doing so well with cyber school so I was looking for a way to have a safe mini vacation for them to unwind and have fun. Our family visited Camelback Lodge a few years ago and had a blast so we decided to visit again this year.

Camelback Resort is located in the Pocono Mountains. The 560-acre resort includes skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing; Camelback Mountain Adventures for ziplining, a treetop obstacle course, and alpine mountain coaster; Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark, Pennsylvania’s biggest outdoor waterpark; and Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark, which was voted USA Today’s 2019 #1 Indoor Waterpark.

Our room at Camelback Lodge was beautiful, warm and inviting. Our suite was the perfect size for a large family or even for 2 families. There were 2 queen beds, a king sized bed and a pullout couch. When we were not at Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark, we were lounging in our comfortable beds in front of the fireplace. Our children were able to attend their online classes with ease in separate bedrooms with high speed wireless internet.

Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark is around 84 degrees and full of natural light all year round with a Texlon transparent roof. There are 13 water slides including kiddie slides, a water coaster, tube slides, and a family slide. We all enjoyed the wave pool and floating down the lost river. My daughters loved testing their balance on the Croc-O-Nile Crossing. Aquatopia is one of our favorite indoor water parks to visit. Our children always have a great time and never want to leave. There are showers, lockers and changing rooms available to use as well.
