National Chocolate Cake Day is celebrated every year on January 27th to honor the cake that most people love. Cake is a common choice for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings. So, why not celebrate this day by enjoying a delicious chocolate cake?
In the early days of America, chocolate was usually consumed as a beverage. Chocolate cakes, as we know them today, didn't exist back then. According to the Dover Post, the chocolate cake was created in 1765 when a doctor and a chocolate maker collaborated in an old mill. They ground cocoa beans between large millstones to create a thick syrup, which was then poured into molds shaped like cakes. These "cakes" were originally intended to be transformed into a beverage.
